Please note: applications without a payment associated with them by the last day of submission will not be processed.
The admission procedure is two rounds. In the first round, the Examination Board will select applicants according to their prerequisites for study - based on the annotation (in English) of the Bachelor thesis (or similar written output), the results of previously completed studies (or at least results of the last finished year; in the form of a statement of results) and the experience and prerequisites for the study contained in the CV and the letter of motivation. Required documents must be uploaded at the same time as the submission of the application to the University Electronic System (UIS).
Part of the 1st round is the Scio GAP online test in English focused on a general overview of the applicant - organized in cooperation with the Scio company. The conditions for registering for the Scio GAP test are listed on the website www.scio.cz. The applicant can use several dates of Scio GAP tests for a given stage of the admission procedure; the best result will be counted.
In the first round, which evaluates the prerequisites for study based on the documents sent, up to 50 points can be earned. The evaluation criteria are:
- 10 points – Previous study results
- 10 points – Record of the Bachelor thesis (or similar written output)
- 10 points – Experience and prerequisites for study
- 10 points – Motivation letter
- 10 points – General overview (online test Scio GAP)
A minimum of 30 points is required to pass the first round. The second round of evaluation consists of an interview where applicants will be invited to an online entrance examination. The interview will be conducted in English, and will consider:
- your motivation for study
- the relevance of your previous education and experience
- your proficiency in English language
- your understanding of agriculture, food systems, and related socio-economic aspects
You will be informed via the UIS system of the results of your interview (a minimum of 60 points out of 100 is required to pass). Decisions may be disputed within 30 days through the study administration office.
Successful applicants will be asked to submit their previous degree certificate for notification (according to Czech Law – further details can be found here) and will be requested to pay the registration fee (110,000 CZK or approx. 4600 EURO per academic year). It is possible to pay in two instalments per year (55,000 CZK per semester). The fee must be paid before study enrolment.
A minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 25 students will be accepted for each study year.
